In any emergency, dial 9-1-1. The emergency operator will summon the closest firefighting, EMS, law enforcement, or rescue resources as necessary, activating the paging system that convokes the members of all-volunteer forces, and coordinating the efforts of different organizations. Do not waste time trying to call a department directly!

When the operator answers:

Remain calm. Take a deep breath.
Tell the emergency operator exactly what is wrong.
Tell them the exact address where help is needed.
Tell them the phone number from where you are calling.
Remain on the line until the operator tells you to hang up.
